  • Tiki Tuesday, 21+ (June 9)

Tuesday, June 9th | 6:00-8:00 p.m. Harmons Station Park Cooking School Chef Laura Tiki Tuesday is a favorite here at the Station Park Cooking School- it's a treat to eat and even more fun to create. Capture you and your co-Chefs in an Instagram-worthy flambe moment! Delicious, sticky coconut rice and tender, shredded island-style pork help wash down our incredible tropical cocktails. That's not all- we also freshly fry coconut shrimp and serve it up with a tangy sweet chili dipping sauce. It's fun for cooks, Chefs, novices, or even those who burn water. Menu: Sticky Coconut Rice Island-Style Pork Coconut Shrimp Wok-fired pineapple rings Painkillers and Pina Coladas Tiki culture began with Ernest Gantt who, at a very young age, already wandered to many parts of the world. He went from the vibrant islands of the Caribbean to the distant waters of South Pacific and beyond. He immersed himself in the cultures and traditions and came back to the States with a suitcase full of exotic souvenirs and an extensive knowledge of the far-away lands. This was something most Americans could only dream of. Inspired by his adventures, he opened a small restaurant/bar influenced by his exotic finds. Join us as we recreate the tiki magic from what became known as Don the Beachcomber's. What to expect in a Harmons Cooking School class: You'll work together with other students in a fun, hands-on environment led by our professional chef instructors. You will be working in small groups, sharing workstations and equipment. Classes are 2 to 2 1/2 hours unless otherwise noted above. You will be standing, cooking, and working for most of the class. • Indian Chicken Tikka Masala (June 10)

Wednesday, June 10 @ 6pm - 8pm Harmons Bangerter Crossing Cooking School Chef Mark Benson Join the Harmons Cooking School Team as they introduce you to one of the most common dishes you’ll see on most Indian restaurant menus. However, did you know that Tikka Masala was actually created in Great Brittian sometime in the 1960s or 70’s, likely by a Pakistani immigrant that was looking to adapt the popular dish, Butter chicken, to the local palate. Tikka Masala wouldn’t be complete without a bowl of Basmati rice and warm, freshly made Naan bread. To cool the spices of the Tikka Masala, you’ll learn how to make Raita, a yogurt-based sauce that balances this robust dish. To complete the meal, Chef Mark will demonstrate how to make Saag Paneer, a spinach dish cooked with firm Paneer cheese, and you’ll wash the meal down with a chef prepared Mango lassi dessert! Menu: Chicken Tikka Masala Naan Bread Saag Paneer Basmati Rice Raita Mango Lassi (Chef Prepared) Seats are priced per person. Please plan to arrive 10 minutes prior to class time. Please list any dietary restrictions in the comment section. To receive a refund or credit, cancellations must be submitted no less than 48 hours before the class begins. Please contact the school at 16cookingschool@harmonsgrocery.com or 801-617-0111, ext. 1609 with any questions.
