    Tuesday, April 28 | 4:30-6:30 p.m. Harmons Traverse Mountain Cooking School Chef Shane Note: This class is designed for Junior Chefs ages 9 through 14. Please no adults- this class is designed for kids only. Get ready to become a grill master! In this hands-on class, junior chefs will learn everything they need to know to make a perfect steak dinner at home. We'll cover essential skills like selecting the right cut of meat, properly seasoning it, and using different cooking methods—from pan-searing to grilling—to achieve a tender, juicy result every time. Beyond the steak, we'll teach you how to prepare delicious side dishes that elevate the meal, including a classic baked potato and a perfectly roasted carrots. We'll also cover essential kitchen safety and knife skills so you can cook with confidence. By the end of the night, you'll have all the knowledge to host a memorable "steak night" for your family and friends. Chef Mark will demonstrate how simple it is to make pasta dough with a few simple pantry ingredients and empower you to make your own from home anytime! Our focus in this class will be on preparing Shrimp in two ways: The first preparation will be "Fra Diavolo", shrimp cooked in a spicy tomato sauce made with red pepper flakes, white wine, and fresh herbs. For the second preparation, you will learn how to make Scampi, a bright combination of butter, garlic, white wine, lemon, and parsley.
